A: We feel that we are successful, we recently celebrated 11 years of service to the community.

We do have a passion for our trainings we truly believe in the value of our trainings. Our availability and time including schedules are at times a challenge to coordinate training events.

What Is "Ableism"?
Ableism is a set of beliefs or practices that devalue and discriminate against people with physical, intellectual, or psychiatric disabilities and often rests on the assumption that disabled people need to be ‘fixed’ in one form or the other. Ableism is intertwined in our culture, due to many limiting beliefs about what disability does or does not mean, how able-bodied people learn to treat people with disabilities and how we are often not included at the table for key decisions.
Stigma of Disabilities
There are many stigmas against disabilities, and they come from stereotypes that are inaccurate, negative, and offensive. For example, people who have mobility issues or depression can be judged as lazy, and those with schizophrenia can be labeled as crazy, uncontrollable, and dangerous. Seeking help from a therapist can also be seen negatively and believed to be a sign of weakness. These stereotypes and misconceptions are caused by media, societal beliefs, cultural beliefs, and lack of awareness and education, causing harm to the community.
Importance of Raising Disability Awareness
Awareness creates empathy; so, when you try to understand one another, it will stop that stereotyping mindset and create an inclusive and safe environment. By self-educating, you can find ways to create change and spread the word to others.
Creating acceptance is a vital component to raising awareness. To help create a better future for those with disabilities, raise awareness on platforms that can reach many people, such as social media.
